Wife & WiFi
Dear Wife… . Surely, the accurate prediction about my birthday gift killed the whole suspense. I shouldn’t have been so careless with Google search keyword history: ‘birthday gift’, ‘best ladies watches’. Apparently, you have been receiving such kind of ‘WiFi’ intelligence about me from time to time.
Wife, quite naturally, knows your likes, dislikes, weaknesses, strengths, tomorrow’s plans etc etc … . Who else?. The home WiFi. But they differ in one aspect – With former, you willingly shared all of them, except weaknesses 😕 . The later, who steal on behalf of Google, Facebook, Twitter cleared herself of any wrongdoing and justifying it an attempt to personalize your experience. LOL.
As far as I know, Wife keeps your personal data secret. But WiFi, selling them to strangers in return for ‘free’ goodies – email, social networking, etc … .
Another exciting topic – Cracking. While password-protected WiFi uses encryption techniques that make it extremely difficult to crack, I don’t think any tool available to inspect what is inside the better half.
Regardless, I enjoy the company of both but strictly on the condition of exclusivity. Numerous times WiFi helped me to overcome boredom, especially when Wife and children away on school vacation. Ironically, the same companionship that bridged our gap over Botim, a calling app in UAE, causes turbulence a few days after we unite. Occasionally, I reprimanded for ‘Abusing WiFi’ – writing this blog – and robbing our valuable family time. And then an ice cream or movie offer will go a long way.
At times, WiFi outsmarts Wife. To my great embarrassment, google search keyword “itinerary” returned my flight schedule that booked a few days back. Yeah!. Another reason to love Google, who acquired a new capability to read flight confirmations received in Gmail. On the other hand, my partner didn’t bother about the flight unless she flies with me. The sole responsibility lies on me to remind her of my trip and set an alarm clock for catching the early morning flights.
WiFi signal strength diminishes with distance from router until you finally lose the connection – almost similar technology embedded into Wife. Within the range, the response would be excellent and warm. If you are out of range, more than a few hours, that without any substantial reason, the response would become sluggish. In extreme cases, the communication channel cutoff for many hours, perhaps days, even in close range, unlike WiFi.
In some exceptional cases, an excellent rapport developing among us. After getting kids to sleep, she will jump to the couch, grab the remote, and enjoy watching TikTok from the laptop. As if an accidental lucky draw winner, liberated from all the disturbances, I slowly immerse in the work of ‘grandmadiary’ – the only time she promotes my companionship with WiFi, which otherwise a reason for tiff.
Spouse relationships analogous to WiFi. It gets stronger in proximity, weaker when you away, hanging out with friends 🙂 .
